Technical Alert for LexisNexis Total Practice Advantage TM Version 8.0 Customers Using the Microsoft® Word Plug-In

LexisNexis Total Practice Advantage 8.0 software customers who use the plug-in to Microsoft Word must reactivate the VeriSign Trusted Publisher certification by 7/23/2009 in order to continue to perform the following functions:· save Word documents to LexisNexis Total Practice Advantage
· open LexisNexis Total Practice Advantage documents from Word
· access LexisNexis Total Practice Advantage data for pasting into WordTo reactivate the certification, you will need to perform the steps below on each workstation using the LexisNexis Total Practice Advantage plug-in for Word. The process is very simple and should not take more than a few minutes.NOTE: If you are on Microsoft’s Windows Vista operating system (and using User Account Control), you need to right-click the Total Practice Advantage icon and run as administrator before you take steps 4-7
1) Close LexisNexis Total Practice Advantage and all MS Office Applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc)
2) Download the document template file named PA8WORD.zip
3) Save this file to your local LexisNexis Total Practice Advantage program directory
– By default this is: C:\LNTPA8 or C:\LNTPA8E for LNTPA 8.0 professional and enterprise versions respectively
4) Open LexisNexis Total Practice Advantage
5) Go to the File Menu-Setup-General-Workstation Level Setup
6) Click the ‘Word Processor Setup’ button
7) Confirm your version of Word is selected and click OKOnce these steps have been performed, your macros will be updated and you will be able to use your LexisNexis Total Practice Advantage integration with Word.
