Pogoplug Pro Dirt Cheap through 8/26/2011

Here in Wisconsin on the Practice411 elist, there's been discussion about NAS (Network Attached Storage) devices. NAS devices are a great way to expand storage, make files accessible across the network, backup and some even provide access to their files over the internet.  If you would like to access your files from your network or the web and if you already have one or several external hard drives (up to 4), one option is to use a Pogoplug device.

Rick Broida from Cnet.com has announced on his “the cheapskate” website a hot deal on the Pogoplug Pro and the Premium software here According to his post, the deal is good through 8/26/2011 or until the units sell out.

The Pogoplug Pro is $29.99 and if you want the software it’s $10 more (read the article for what the software does). The software can be installed on all of your computers, not just one of them. Shipping is a bit high at $12.95, but even with that I just picked up the Pogoplug and the software for approx. $53 which is still less than the $99 list price (or a street price which ranges from around $65-85.00).

It is also Wi-Fi equipped and there are mobile device downloads available for iPhone, iPad and Android. At this price, it’s tough not to get one.
