Attorney at Work has posted their Friday Five article for Friday October 7, 2011 and it's all about tablets and Tablet Love. While much of the information is for those that love the iPad, but I've contributed for those of us that prefer an alternative. In my case, it's my Acer Iconia Tab A500 tablet running Android Honeycomb 3.2. I love having the ability to increase storage by SD card, connect external devices by USB, native HDMI video and lower cost. When I purchased my A500, other than the XOOM, it was really the one choice that was available, but that is no longer true. For those that are looking for an alternative to the iPad, there are a number of great Android based options now available including: ASUS EEE Pad Transformer , with it's unique add-on keyboard that also doubles the battery life of the tablet; Samsung and it's Galaxy Tab 10.1 which some say is the best of the Android tablets available; Lenovo's new ThinkPad tablet;.and Toshiba's Thrive tablet. to name several.
If you enjoy watching Flash based videos, want a product that has an open architecture to make changes, has different expansion options and capabilities, then take a look at an Android 3.2 Honeycomb tablet. While there are not near as many Honeycomb apps as there are iPad apps, the number of Honeycomb apps continues to grow. The one area where the iPad currently reigns supreme is in legal based apps for trial, client deposition preparation and the like, but as Honeycomb continues to gain in popularity, I believe that these options will soon become available for Android as well.
Take a look at them for yourself. If you've got a favorite app or accessory, iPad or Android, let me know.
