While much of the information is for those that love the iPad, I’ve contributed for those of us that prefer an alternative. Here in Wisconsin, there’s been discussion about about NAS (Network Attached Storage) devices. NAS devices are a great way to expand storage, make files accessible across the network, backup and some even provide access to their files over the internet. If you would like to access your files from your network or the web and if you already have one or several external hard drives (up to 4), one option is to use a Pogoplug device.

Dropbox has quickly become a widely used product and service with a good reputation at least up until recently. In the last few months, Dropox has made a number of misstatements and gaffes regarding who has access to your data and to what extent that Dropbox could make of it. From a lawyers perspective, Dropbox should not be used for confidential or other sensitive data unless it’s been encrypted prior to uploading to your Dropbox account.
